Kitchens + Science | Assisi College – Upper Coomera

It was great to hand over these new health + sustainability focused specialist facilities to Assisi College, Upper Coomera at the end of 2021. A need was identified earlier in the year to convert a few classroom spaces for higher needed specialty spaces within the College. Fortunately, this internal conversion provided the College with a more economical and sustainable option than a full new build for these new learning spaces.

Following consultation with executive staff and specialist teachers at Assisi College, the requirements for the new Kitchens and Science Rooms were developed.

We also were able to bring in more health conscious and sustainably focused features including:

  • Natural Marmoleum flooring (natural materials, durable + no off-gassing chemicals)
  • Low VOC paints (durable + low off-gassing)
  • Sustainable (Recycled Paper) Laminated Kitchen Benchtops
  • No formaldehyde Joinery (better air quality)
  • Maintained Passive Air Control options
  • Added Active Exhaust for in Kitchens (better air quality)
  • High quality LED lighting (durability + quality learning spaces)
  • Easy maintenance + Hardwaring surfaces (easier + healthier spaces to clean down + keep clean)

We hope these new facilities will be of great benefit to all students and staff that will use these spaces for the many years to come!
