Master Colour Day

It was a pleasure to give a talk recently on ‘Colour and Energy in Feng Shui’  for the Colour Society of Australia in Brisbane.

Feng Shui integrates colour in many interesting ways.  Having a good understanding of colour and energy is an important aspect in Feng Shui to create balanced and harmonious spaces.  As everything is energy, colour is a form of energy that can be used to create better balance and wellbeing in our lives through good design of spaces.

To start with, there are individual colour meanings that have positive and negative uses and these can be used to your advantage when understood.

Colour can also be related to the Chakra energy system and there is a whole area of meaning associated with this that is relevant and can be used in Feng Shui.

The Feng Shui chart of a home will also have certain areas that require colour to be used to effectively enhance positive or suppress negative energies in the home.

Colour is also associated to each of the natural ‘Five Elements Cycle,’ which is made up of: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water.  A good understanding of colour for each element is required so you can enhance or suppress an area of space in a home as needed.

We also all have personal ‘power’ colours, which is where our astrology comes into play.  Depending on which of the ‘Five Elements’ that you are and other supporting elements, certain colours will naturally work better for you.  You can then use your personal astrology to better position spaces in your home to your advantage, using colour as one element of this dynamic.  I have written an article on astrology in Feng Shui here.

Then you just need balance to bring all of these aspects together to create a response that effectively utilises the energy of the colour for that particular space of the home.

It was useful to provide a Case Study of a recent Hemp House and look at the Feng Shui analysis to see how this all came together.

It was great to see people’s engagement and interest with the topic and I appreciated the opportunity to speak.
